graduated from the politecnico di milano (1989), where in 2023 he founded the design workshop church for the future, focused on the conception of spiritual architectures within contemporary cities.
his professional and research career is dedicated to liturgical space and to themes of community and sharing.
he obtained a phd from the university of bologna (2013), presenting a thesis on the churches of emil steffann, published in italian and german in 2014, and a second-level master’s degree in the design and adaptation of churches at la sapienza university in rome (2003).
his research activity is reflected in numerous publications, conference participations and contributions to design discourse. in 2019 he published liturgical architecture. an essential dictionary; he was among the first to explore the use of generative artificial intelligence in the representation and design of ecclesial spaces, publishing in 2024 spiritual a.i. images of space for ecclesial architecture.
in 2024 he was invited as a speaker at the study week of the association of professors of liturgy on inhabiting liturgical space, and in 2025 at the societas liturgica congress in paris.
his body of experimental and built work is presented in the anthology mystical body (2022) and includes studies and projects at every scale of liturgical design.
in 2009 he was a finalist in the competition for the liturgical adaptation of alba cathedral; in 2012 he was an invited designer at the 6th cei pilot competition; in 2021 and 2023 he was invited to the competitions for the chapel of the cei service center in rome and for the diocesan competition regina pacis in giavera del montello (both with s. boeri).
he received an honorable mention in the diocesan competition san paolo vi in alba adriatica (2020, with a. bellini); in 2016 he won (with f. p. quaranta) the competition for the community house in lariano, diocese of velletri-segni, inaugurated in 2025.
in 2026 he is invited as lead designer to the new churches program of the diocese of rome.
