graduated in architecture in florence, after several professional experiences, particularly with architect guido canali, he opened his own studio in bologna, focusing mainly on architectural and interior design projects in italy and abroad, with particular attention to solutions that combine technological innovation, environmental sustainability and new lifestyles.
in addition, pierluigi molteni architetti also works in exhibition design, both in the commercial and museum fields. among the projects in this area are the performance section at the mambo museum of modern art in bologna, the exhibitions “ex africa. stories and identities of a universal art” at the archaeological civic museum of bologna, “julius ii and raphael. a new season of the renaissance in bologna” at the national picture gallery of bologna, and the adi design index at the adi design museum in milan.
alongside his professional activity, he has always pursued research and study.
he is currently an adjunct professor in the advanced design master’s degree program at the university of bologna.
he is a consultant for the irrccs sant’orsola hospital in bologna on the humanization of healthcare spaces and is a member of the advisory commission for art in public space of the municipality of bologna.
